A Look Back

As it is the beginning of a new year, and the end of an eventful one, I thought I would take a look back at some of the more memorable moments of 2012.

Many of you will recall that this is the year I began blogging.  I don't mind noting that some of my posts have been pretty good.  Some have been....um...we'll go with "lackluster".

I've been fortunate enough to celebrate birthdays with my three sons.

I will digress a moment here and share something fairly incredible about my boys.

My oldest was born on May 10, 2003.  In numbers only, the date is written as 5/10/03.  The equation 5/10 reduces as a fraction to 1/2.

My second son was born June 12, 2006.  In numbers only, the date is written as 6/12/06.  The equation 6/12 reduces as a fraction to 1/2.

My youngest son was born November 22, 2009.  In numbers only, the date is written as 11/22/09.  The equation 11/22 reduces as a fraction to 1/2.

All three boys were born on days that can equate to 1/2.  In addition to this, when you add the birthdays of the two older boys:

      5/10/03
+   6/12/06
   11/22/09

- The sum is the birthday of my youngest son.

As parents, there was no attempt at making this occur.  And yet, it did.  Something little like this makes you think.  I've looked at it numerous times over the years.

So, does this have any meaning?  I believe that it does.  I think that if you look for threads in the larger tapestry of our existence, you will find an interconnection that can inspire and comfort you.

On the other hand, it may just be a slightly interesting situation that one can simply bung into their blog on a slow day...

At any rate, this has been a good year.  The folks at Psycrets - a London based establishment for mentalists and similar entertainers - were kind enough not only to accept me into their organization, but to request that I allow them to include one of my routines in a book they published.

Around the same time, I published another book of my own which has garnered modest praise and has sold quite well.  I have recently been contacted by a number of sources about expanding distribution and am mulling it over.

We had a great time over the holidays, and I ended the year performing for Doty and Associates, Inc. By the end of the evening, this group of strangers felt like firm friends and were honestly some of the nicest and quick-witted people I've had the opportunity to interact with.

All in all, this was a great year and I am looking forward to sharing 2013 with all of you.

Best,

Atlas
